If the programme starts but you can't hear water coming in, or it fills very slowly, the problem lies in the water path from the tap to the drum.

Possible causes

  • Tap partly closed or low water pressure
  • Blocked mesh filter at the hose inlet
  • Kinked inlet hose
  • Failed water inlet valve (solenoid)
  • Faulty water-level sensor or its small tube

Safe first checks you can do

Safety: unplug the appliance and close the water tap before any check, and never open the outer casing or electronic boards yourself.
  1. Make sure the tap is fully open and water is reaching the house
  2. Detach the hose and clean the small mesh at its inlet
  3. Check the hose isn't kinked behind the washer
  4. On low-supply days, try again once the tank is full

When do you need a technician?

If pressure is good, the filter is clean and water still won't enter, the valve or its supply from the board needs measuring.

Frequently asked questions

Does a rooftop tank affect filling?

Yes, low tank level or little height difference reduces pressure and may trigger a fill-related error.
